Troubleshooting: Slack notifications for Forecast
The Slack notification is sent once a week to remind AEs that it's time to forecast, and to give managers a summary of the forecast status of their team.
You must have a working Slack integration to receive these notifications.
If nobody is receiving a Slack notification for forecasting, check the following:
-
Check that Forecast due is set up in Forecast settings.
-
Check that reps that should be forecasting have a defined target.
Targets can be uploaded or defined manually by editing the target cell for each rep.
For Slack notifications, an AE is defined as someone who has a defined target, or has previously submitted their number, and who is not a manager i.e., has no direct reports.
AEs must have a defined target value in Gong, or have previously updated their number to receive a Slack reminder, and to appear in the manager's summary.
-
Check that the rep has a defined target.
Targets can be uploaded or defined manually by editing the target cell for each rep.
For Slack notifications, a frontline manager is defined as someone who is a direct manager of one or more AEs, but not other managers.
-
Check that ALL reps who report up to the frontline manager have defined targets.
Targets can be uploaded or defined manually by editing the target cell for each rep.
-
Check the org hierarchy in Gong to make sure that the manager has all expected team members
For Slack notifications, a manager of managers is defined as someone who is a direct manager of one or more frontline managers.
Frontline managers do not need to have a defined target to appear in their manager's summary.
