Best practices for writing prompts
The questions made through Ask Anything are referred to as AI "prompts." The clearer these prompts are, the higher the accuracy of the answers.
We recommend that you follow these best practices when asking questions about the account or deal. Note that these best practices differ to the best practices we have for ask anything about a call.
-
Write specific instructions. For example, instead of writing “What was their main problem” try writing something like “What’s the biggest problem that Alchemy Solutions can solve for the customer?”
-
Use the account name. For example, “What are Acme’s business goals?” will get more accurate results than “What are their business goals?
-
Lean on past conversations. We search up to 10 calls and 80 emails for answers, therefore asking questions about the content of those conversations will give richer results than asking a hypothetical question or asking about the future.
-
Phrase your question as though you are speaking to a person. Even though AI isn’t human, using natural language helps it “better understand” your question. Therefore, ask a full question, for example, “What are Acme’s biggest pain points?”
-
Ask one question at a time. The provided answer will respond to the question asked. Note that we won’t refer to previous questions in the answer.
Note
Ask anything about deals and accounts isn't available with Gong Lite.
Here are some examples to help you come up with questions of your own. Customize them as necessary for your deals or accounts.
-
"What did the customer say about the price of our offer?"
-
"Summarize Acme’s objections and provide the answer in bullet form."
-
"Summarize the business pain points brought up by Acme."
-
"Was specific pricing discussed?"
-
"Give me a summary of items that Acme prefers about our product over other products."
-
"What did Acme say about competitors?"
-
"Based on what Acme said, recap the current and desired state of customer success."
