Mark someone as do not contact
Who's this for? Reps
Where to go? Anywhere in Engage
When a contact requests to be opted out of future communications with your company, you’ll want to mark them as do not contact in Gong so you can keep track of this request. Once marked as do not contact, you and your teammates will see a do not contact label next to the person’s name.
There are a few different ways you can mark someone as do not contact:
-
Hover over the name of a contact or lead. Click at the bottom right of the contact card and select Mark as do not contact. Or, click on someone's name to open up person view in a panel, and click and Mark as do not contact from the menu there.
-
You can also mark someone as do not contact when making a call from the Gong dialer by selecting the Opt out call disposition, or by marking them as opted out in your CRM.
-
If someone clicks on an unsubscribe link from a flow email, they're automatically marked as do not contact
No matter where you mark someone as do not contact from, the "do not contact" label in Gong syncs with the "Email opt out" field in your CRM (if opt out sync is enabled by your admin).
In the same way, marking someone as opted out using the email opt out field in your CRM will be reflected in Gong with the "do not contact" label (if opt out sync is enabled by your admin.
Hover over the name of a contact or lead. Click at bottom right of the contact card and select Unmark do not contact. Unmarking someone as do not contact will remove the Do not contact label that appears next to their name.
Marking someone as do not contact or selecting the opt out call disposition removes them from any flow they’re currently in. They won’t be added to flows via automatic rules while marked as do not contact.
When marked as do not contact or opt out, a yellow Do not contact label is displayed next to the person’s name in the contacts list in the account view, and also on their contact card. Everyone in your organization can see this label. Their name appears in yellow in the Gong dialer and email composer.
Marking someone as do not contact does not prevent you and your teammates from communicating with them. While marked as do not contact, you can still call them, email them, and manually add them to flows.
